Renowned author and literary artist Rosalind Severin McClean has received the Gold Book Award from Literary Titan for her evocative and powerful poetry collection, Oceans of Thoughts: Book One. This recognition honors works that demonstrate exceptional literary merit, emotional depth, and powerful storytelling.
A soul-stirring journey through memory, loss, resilience, and spiritual awakening, Oceans of Thoughts: Book One has captivated readers and critics alike with its raw emotional honesty and rich cultural resonance. Informed by McClean’s Dominican heritage and anchored in heartfelt tributes, particularly those to her late sister Yvonne, the book offers profound reflections on grief, identity, family, and faith. Each poem and reflection pulses with a vibrant mix of biblical, spiritual, and philosophical themes, interwoven with everyday language and vivid imagery.
In its award review, Literary Titan praised the book as “a heart cracked open”, noting that McClean’s work “felt like stepping into someone’s journal… full of yearning and beauty and that special kind of ache that comes from love not lost, but changed.” From childhood memories in Dominica to deeply personal moments of prayer, Oceans of Thoughts invites readers into an authentic and healing space, one where poetry serves not only as expression but as spiritual restoration.
McClean’s literary voice is unique, unfiltered, lyrical, and deeply human. Her unflinching honesty and use of dialect bring an immersive quality to the work, grounding it in Caribbean reality while lifting it toward universal truths. It’s a collection that does not shy away from mourning but also celebrates memory, resilience, and the enduring power of the sacred.
This Literary Titan Gold Book Award adds to McClean’s growing list of accolades, including multiple wins from the International Impact Book Awards in 2024 and 2025, as well as her recognition as the 2023 Featured Author for Literature by the Writers Litfest Edition VI.
