PALM BEACH GARDENS, Florida – Serenity Living Home Care has opened its second residential care home in Palm Beach Gardens, and unlike a typical expansion, the new home was not built from a standard template. It was shaped in part by ideas and preferences shared by families at the company’s first location, gathered during move ins, care planning meetings and everyday conversations.
Over time, staff and administrators began keeping a running list of the small things families valued most and the details they hoped to see carried into any future home. A wider doorway for a wheelchair to turn comfortably. A quiet, private space where a family could visit without the activity of a common room nearby. A layout that made it easier for a resident with memory loss to find their own room independently. Individually, none of these ideas were dramatic. Together, they became part of the blueprint for the second home.
“Families know what matters because they live it every day,” said Stephanie Heredia, Administrator of Serenity Living Home Care. “We didn’t want to guess at what a second home should look like. We wanted to build it with the people who already trust us, using what they’ve told us they care about most.”
The result is a residential care home that keeps Serenity Living’s core model, small resident counts, personalized care plans, medication management, fresh cooked meals and activities shaped around individual interests, while also reflecting thoughtful details that came directly from families’ lived experience.
Serenity Living says the practice of listening closely to families did not end with the opening. Staff continue to welcome input at both homes, with an eye toward carrying good ideas forward into whatever comes next.
