As generative AI tools continue to reshape the software development landscape, the concept of vibe coding—where individuals build applications rapidly using natural language prompts without foundational engineering knowledge—has gained significant traction. However, new research and internal experimental projects conducted by Multiable’s existing enterprise clients reveal that relying on AI-generated software to replace sophisticated ERP ecosystems poses catastrophic operational risks.
Multiable, whose client base primarily consists of public companies, multinationals, and large enterprises with over 1,000 headcounts, closely monitored several of its clients as they attempted to recreate isolated ERP modules using AI-driven vibe coding workflows.
While the experimental teams successfully generated highly polished user interfaces in record time, the systems completely collapsed when subjected to enterprise-grade stress tests.

According to the findings compiled by Multiable, the vibe-coded software prototypes failed across three critical dimensions:
Total Breakdown of Financial Integrity: The AI-generated systems failed to implement strict database transaction handling (ACID properties). When processing complex, multi-entity financial consolidations and multi-currency conversions, the systems produced ghost inventory, mismatched general ledgers, and a complete lack of the compliant audit trails required for public companies.
The Scalability Wall: While the prototypes functioned well in isolated demos, they suffered massive database deadlocks and catastrophic latency when simulated corporate workloads reached 1,000+ concurrent active users. The AI engines failed to generate efficient database indexing or horizontal scaling architectures.
Unmanageable Technical Debt and Security Gaps: As prompts were continually added to expand features, the codebase quickly devolved into undocumented “spaghetti code” that was impossible to maintain. Furthermore, standard security audits revealed severe vulnerabilities, including broken object-level authorization and exposed API pathways.
