Launched at the start of 2026, Emergency Repairs London now runs eight vans around the clock, looks after around 3,000 homes for London property managers, and reports a 99% success rate on leaks flagged by Thames Water. Its director says the growth came from honest pricing, not paid advertising.

London, United Kingdom – September 18, 2026 – Emergency Repairs London Ltd opened at the start of 2026. Nine months later the company runs eight fully equipped vans on London’s roads 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and looks after around 3,000 homes on behalf of property management companies and letting agents, alongside a growing base of private homeowners and tenants.

The company says the growth did not come from a large advertising budget. It came from customers who found the company through ordinary search results and guides, got a fair price and a job done properly, and then recommended it to others.

“There’s no secret to it,” said Adrian N., Director of Emergency Repairs London. “Turn up when you say you will, fix the problem properly, and charge a price you’d be happy to pay yourself. If you do that every day, people come back, and they bring their neighbours, their landlords and their agents with them. That’s how a company that started in January has eight vans on the road in September.”

Why the company tells customers to skip the sponsored results

Emergency Repairs London gives callers an unusual piece of advice: when searching for a plumber in an emergency, scroll past the sponsored listings at the top of Google and choose from the ordinary results underneath.

“Emergency plumbing is one of the most expensive categories to advertise in, and every click has to be paid for by someone,” said Adrian N. “Usually that someone is the customer, through a higher call-out fee or a higher hourly rate. The companies in the ordinary results earned that place by being useful to people, and that’s where you tend to find the firms doing honest work at honest prices.”

The company follows its own advice. Most of its work comes from organic search, and several of its guides now rank on the first page of Google for the questions Londoners ask when something goes wrong, including who is responsible for a Thames Water leak and how to claim the Thames Water leak allowance. Its guides and services are also increasingly referenced by AI assistants, including ChatGPT and Google Gemini, when people ask them for an emergency plumber in London.

Around 3,000 homes for property managers, with no call-out fee

A large part of the company’s growth has come from property management companies, block managers and letting agents. Through its partner programme, Emergency Repairs London now covers around 3,000 homes across the capital.

For these partners, the company waives its £60 call-out fee on every job it attends and completes, so agencies pay only for labour and parts. Across a portfolio of thousands of homes, that removes a cost that would otherwise be added to every leak, blockage and boiler breakdown. Partners also get one contractor and one invoice format across all London boroughs, with engineers available at night, at weekends and on bank holidays. Details are published on the company’s property manager plumbing page.

Private customers get the same engineers and the same standard of work. Their emergency call-out fee is a flat £60 at any hour.

A 99% success rate on Thames Water leak cases

A growing share of the company’s work comes from households that have received a letter from Thames Water about a leak, or a water bill far higher than expected. On a water meter, water escaping from the underground supply pipe is billed as if the household had used it, and the owner is normally responsible for repairing that pipe.

The problem is large. Water companies in England and Wales lose about 2,869 million litres a day to leaks, around a fifth of all the water they put into supply, and Thames Water lost about 569 million litres a day in 2024-25, more than any other company, according to Ofwat.

Emergency Repairs London says it has found and fixed the leak in 99% of the Thames Water cases it has taken on this year. Engineers locate leaks before digging up floors or driveways, using acoustic listening equipment, thermal imaging and hydrogen tracer gas, which can find a leak in plastic pipe under concrete, tarmac or block paving. Leak surveys are covered by a written no find, no fee guarantee: if the leak is not found, the customer does not pay for the survey.

Because the same team handles the plumbing, the engineer who finds the leak can usually repair it straight away, and the company can also put right any damage the leak has caused to ceilings, floors or walls. Customers receive a dated invoice they can use to claim the Thames Water leak allowance, a rebate for the water lost, which metered customers can apply for within three months of the repair. Thames Water can give owners four weeks to fix a leak before using its powers under Section 75 of the Water Industry Act 1991, so a quick repair matters.

“A lot of the people who call us have been paying for water they never used, sometimes for months,” said Adrian N. “Finding the leak, fixing it and giving them the paperwork to get some of that money back is some of the most satisfying work we do.”
