CARROLLTON, GEORGIA – The Breast of Times Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit organization founded in 2009, will host its 10th annual Breakfast with Santa as part of its yearly initiative to raise awareness about childhood cancer, leukemia, and sickle cell disease.
Date: Saturday, December 14, 2019 Time: 9-12 noon Location: Carroll County AG Center, 900 Newnan Road, Carrollton Cost: $10 adult $5 child, under 5 – free Tickets: available online at Eventbrite: botsanta2019.eventbrite.com or the Foundation at 404-437-6400.
Each year, the foundation takes this opportunity to gather families together, have a bountiful breakfast buffet, enjoy live holiday performances, while the children have fun with face-painting, Christmas crafts and activities, one-on-one time with Santa, receiving gifts, and more.
“The Foundation’s Breakfast with Santa has become an important annual event to bring much needed support to the West Georgia area, and I am very grateful for our sponsors, volunteers, family and friends who have helped to make this event possible,” says LaRue Parker, Founder of The Breast of Times Foundation. “We host this event each year to bring joy to our little warriors who have gone through so much”. “Unfortunately, for some of our kids, this could probably be their last Christmas celebration, so we strive to make it extra special for them.”
As of 2019, more than 15,780 children ages 0-19 are diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. and 20% of those children affected will not survive the disease. Every 3 minutes a family hears the devastating words that their child has been diagnosed with cancer. Cancer remains the #1 cause of death by disease for children in America, followed by sickle cell and leukemia.
Over 1400 “Boxes of Love” have been distributed to families affected by Childhood Cancer, Leukemia, and Sickle Cell Disease over the past nine years from the Breast of Times Foundation, but more donations are needed to fulfill as many children’s wish lists as possible.
