NEW MILTON, UK – A New Forest-based kitchen and carpentry business, Pure Kitchens & Carpentry Ltd, is gaining national attention for its outstanding workmanship and unwavering commitment to customer care. The team behind the business, Mike Wale and Amelie Pauquet, are celebrating their latest milestone: being named Kitchen Fitter of the Year 2025 at the prestigious Business Awards UK.
Pure Kitchens launched in March 2021. The family-run business has now grown from a modest start-up to a thriving operation known for delivering exceptional kitchen renovations and bespoke carpentry throughout the New Forest.
“We started this business because we’re passionate about creating beautiful spaces that people truly enjoy living in,” says Mike, who brings over two decades of experience as a carpenter and was trained at Bournemouth and Pool College. “It’s not just about fitting kitchens — it’s about transforming homes and lives with quality craftsmanship.”
Amelie, originally from Bordeaux, France, adds a refined eye for detail thanks to her background in painting, decorating, and interior design. She joined the business full-time in 2024, allowing the couple to fully align their skills and vision. “Now we’re able to focus on every element of a project together,” she said. “From initial consultation through to aftercare, we make sure each client receives a seamless, stress-free experience.”
The duo have navigated their fair share of challenges. After Mike lost his Father, a skilled tradesman who was a source of inspiration, he struggled to continue working as a general carpenter. Then, he found a new sense of focus when he decided to specialise in kitchens. Initially, he and Amelie were balancing separate businesses. They pushed through long hours, inconsistent trade partners, and the pressure of managing every element themselves. “It was hard,” said Mike. “But we were driven by the idea of building something better, something we could both be proud of.”
Since combining forces, the company has seen significant growth, increasing turnover from £80,000 to £200,000 in the past year, expanding their client base, and eliminating the need for filler work.
Their membership with the Guild of Master Craftsmen and strong reputation on Checkatrade further highlight their dedication to maintaining the highest standards.
With support from local and national suppliers, and a trusted network of skilled sub-contractors, Mike and Amelie have created a business that values both precision craftsmanship and personal connection. Every project is delivered with care, clear communication, and a single point of contact — a detail that clients deeply appreciate.
Looking to the future, Pure Kitchens & Carpentry Ltd aim to continue growing without compromising the personalised service that has defined their journey so far. “We want to be known as the go-to name for kitchen fitting in the New Forest and surrounding areas,” added Amelie. “Not just because of our work, but because of how we treat people.”
With a national award now under their belt and a strong client base behind them, it’s clear that Mike and Amelie are not just building kitchens, they’re building something truly special.
