London Doctor’s Brush With Death Inspires Revolutionary Skin Clinic and Wellness Café for Mature Women

LONDON, UK – In celebration of Women’s Health Week (11th–17th May), a South London doctor is launching a bold new venture that redefines how older women experience beauty, health, and self-worth.

Dr Amina Adeniran, NHS GP and founder of The Super-Skin Clinic, is opening London’s first Skin Café dedicated entirely to women aged 50 to 75 and beyond; a welcoming space designed to offer more than just treatments, but community, conversation and confidence.

Dr Adeniran’s inspiration stems from a harrowing personal journey. In 2019, while pregnant and working as a GP, she was diagnosed with a life-threatening brain tumour and given six months to live. She chose to prioritise her unborn baby while undergoing treatment, including two brain surgeries; one during pregnancy, the other shortly after a premature delivery.

“It was the darkest chapter of my life,” said Dr Adeniran. “But surviving it gave me a new purpose, to celebrate ageing and resilience, especially in women who are so often forgotten by mainstream beauty and healthcare.”

Now nearing the completion of her Level 7 (Master’s) in Aesthetic Medicine from Harley Academy, Dr Adeniran has launched a groundbreaking space that blends clinical excellence with holistic wellness.

The Super-Skin Café is the social heart of the clinic; a warm, inclusive environment where mature women can enjoy skin consultations, connect with others, and access a wider range of wellbeing services.

“Too many women over 50 feel invisible. The Skin Café is where they come to feel seen, heard, and celebrated,” said Dr Adeniran. “It’s a safe space for sharing stories, sipping herbal teas, and accessing everything from skincare to hormone advice in one empowering hub.”

Open to all women aged 45+, the café hosts events, workshops, and wellbeing drop-ins featuring a rotating network of expert collaborators, including nutritionists, HRT specialists, psychiatrists, and mindfulness coaches. It’s part community space, part sanctuary, and part educational hub.

Alongside the café, the Super-Skin Clinic offers specialised treatments for mature skin including microneedling, skin peels, intimate rejuvenation, pigmentation correction, and medical-grade skincare — all tailored to the unique needs of older women.

“I believe beauty is survival made visible,” Dr Adeniran added. “My mission is to honour the warrior within every ageing woman — not just with treatments, but with compassion, dignity and community.”

In recognition of her extraordinary journey and innovation, Dr Adeniran has been awarded the 2025 Rose Global Recognition Award.
