On May 13 (local time), the 24th International Exhibition of Triennale Milano—widely known as the “Olympics of the design world”—officially opened in Italy. As the core technology partner in the China Participation, ANGEL joined hands with Tongji University to unveil a themed water installation titled “Balancing Dynamics – The Law of Civilizational Development”. Using water as a medium, the installation bridges technological rationality with humanistic aesthetics, emerging as a striking highlight of the exhibition. Zhao Kai, Vice President of ANGEL Group, was invited by the organizers to attend the opening ceremony and participate in a series of exchange activities. His presence not only highlighted ANGEL’s influential role in global water purification technology innovation but also showcased a renewed image of Chinese enterprises on the international stage of design and sustainable development.
Since its founding in 1923, the Triennale Milano has remained one of the world’s most prestigious design and architectural events—a global barometer for the creative industries. ANGEL’s in-depth participation in this year’s edition not only reinforces its status as a global leader in water purification technology, but also represents a high-level dialogue showcasing Chinese innovation on the world stage.
On the opening day, in the presence of guests and media, Professor Lou Yongqi, Chief Curator of the China Participation, presented Zhao Kai, Vice President of ANGEL Group, with a certificate of appreciation. He remarked that the collaboration between ANGEL and Tongji University at the Triennale Milano had progressed seamlessly and expressed confidence in future joint efforts to explore new frontiers in water filtration technology and innovation.
The debut of the “Balancing Dynamics” water installation marks a natural extension of the deep integration between academia and industry. As a leading scholar in the design field, Professor Lou Yongqi spearheaded the curatorial work of the China Participation, while ANGEL, as the core technology partner, empowered the construction of the water system with its cutting-edge purification technologies, achieving a seamless fusion of aesthetic artistry and technical functionality—a vivid embodiment of design innovation and Chinese ingenuity.
Within the China Participation, “Super Living Installation” designed by Professor Lou—a symbiotic aquaponics system powered by open-source hardware and software—draws its technical foundation from ANGEL’s patented water purification system. The installation interacts with the other curated exhibits across themed zones, ensuring a cohesive narrative and a richly layered visual language.
According to Mr. Zhao Kai, the water installation features a multi-layer structural design, with the upper level consisting of a soilless plant cultivation module, and the lower levels comprising a fish farming module and a soil-based plant cultivation module. Water flows downward by gravity, nourishing plant roots while simultaneously providing a living environment for the fish. At the end of the cycle, ANGEL’s fully automated Reverse Osmosis water purification system continuously purifies the circulating water. Wastewater containing organic matter discharged from the system is repurposed as fertilizer for the soil-based cultivation area, thus achieving resource reutilization and forming a dynamic and stable ecosystem.
The core water filtration module of this water installation, provided by ANGEL, integrates several advanced purification technologies. It is capable of operating fully automatically for over a year without frequent maintenance, demonstrating exceptional reliability. This groundbreaking ecological water purification solution not only exemplifies ANGEL’s deep expertise in the field but also offers a viable model for future sustainable living.
In a media interview, Mr. Zhao Kai stated, “ANGEL has always adhered to the philosophy of long-termism in technology, driving ongoing corporate transformation and high-quality industry development through technological innovation. We are committed to creating a healthier and better life for families around the world, enabling everyone to enjoy a safe, healthy, and comfortable drinking water experience. Moving forward, we will continue to use water as a medium to promote a more sustainable and human-centered global approach to water usage.”
With 37 years of deep cultivation in the water purification industry, ANGEL has remained committed to its mission of “Create A Healthy And Wonderful Life”. Every technological breakthrough is a step toward improving quality of life; every product is a reliable companion in the pursuit of wellness. Under the spotlight of global civilization, ANGEL is redefining the role of Chinese brands through technological innovation in water—using science as its tool and humanity as its ink, sketching a compelling trajectory from China to the world on the canvas of global culture. This may well be the core message of “Balancing Dynamics”: that in a world of constant change, only innovation rooted in the genes of civilization can shape a truly sustainable future.
