MANCHESTER, UNITED KINGDOM – Pre-production has officially begun on START OVER – Turn Any Loss Into a Sensational Comeback, a major new feature film based on the extraordinary true story of entrepreneur, television personality, philanthropist and bestselling author Marco Robinson.
Filming is scheduled to begin in September 2026, with the production serving as the foundation for a wider television documentary series inspired by Robinson’s rapidly growing global Start Over Movement.
For most people, the story would seem almost impossible to believe.
A homeless child who would go on to build businesses, advise entrepreneurs, create award-winning television, produce globally distributed films and help inspire thousands of people around the world to rebuild their lives after adversity.
Yet that is exactly the journey the film intends to tell.
Long before the television cameras arrived, Marco Robinson experienced homelessness as a child after his mother was forced to leave a difficult family situation. Those early experiences would leave a permanent mark and later become the driving force behind a career built on resilience, reinvention and refusing to accept limitations imposed by circumstance.
Over the next three decades Robinson built a reputation as one of the most unconventional business leaders of his generation.
One of the defining chapters of that journey came during his time in Asia, where he joined Malaysian public company Tanco Resorts Berhad.
What followed became one of the most significant commercial turnarounds of his career.
Starting with a business that was struggling to realise its potential, Robinson helped scale sales operations, recruit and train thousands of people and drive extraordinary growth across the organisation.
During this period the company grew from a valuation of approximately £1 billion to over £6 billion, creating one of the most talked-about business growth stories in the region.
Robinson has often attributed that success not to genius or luck, but to a simple philosophy.
“I scaled it like I gave a shit,” he says with characteristic bluntness.
“It wasn’t complicated. I cared about the people, cared about the customer and cared about the outcome.”
The experience would later earn him the nickname “The Billion Dollar Man.”
But despite the commercial success, Robinson’s public profile would expand even further through television.
Millions of viewers came to know him through Channel 4’s groundbreaking series Get A House For Free, which followed Robinson as he used innovative property strategies to help ordinary families transform their circumstances.
The programme became one of Channel 4’s most talked-about factual entertainment shows and generated significant public attention for its emotional storytelling.
In one of the series’ most memorable moments, Robinson famously gave away his Ferrari to help support a homeless family.
Years later, viewers continue to contact him describing the impact the programme had on their lives.
The success of Get A House For Free established Robinson as more than an entrepreneur.
It revealed a storyteller capable of connecting with audiences through hope, transformation and human resilience.
Since then, Robinson has expanded his interests across publishing, technology, education, documentary filmmaking and media production.
His award-winning documentary How To Build A Billion Dollar Brand achieved international recognition across multiple film festivals and became one of the most successful independent business documentaries of recent years.
He was also associated with productions that achieved major global streaming success, helping introduce his work to significantly larger audiences.
More recently, Robinson became a co-owner of Naked Diablo, one of the fastest-growing premium tequila brands in the United States.
The company has expanded rapidly through strategic partnerships, national distribution growth and a bold media strategy that includes television production and global brand development.
Together, these ventures form part of a wider vision Robinson describes as “building movements rather than businesses.”
That philosophy eventually gave birth to the Start Over Movement.
What began as a book project evolved into an international platform centred around stories of ordinary people overcoming extraordinary adversity.
The International #1 Bestselling Start Over book series has already produced multiple bestselling titles and helped hundreds of entrepreneurs, professionals and business owners share their comeback stories with the world.
Now Robinson is taking that message to cinema audiences.
The feature film will chronicle the defining moments of his life, from homelessness and hardship through business success, personal setbacks, television fame and the creation of the Start Over Movement itself.
The production will also act as a prelude to an ambitious television documentary series that will showcase real-life stories of resilience, reinvention and comeback from around the globe.
According to Robinson, the timing could not be more relevant.
“We’re living in a world where people are overwhelmed by negativity, division and uncertainty,” he says.
“People don’t need another celebrity story. They need hope. They need proof that starting over is possible.”
Industry observers believe the project has the potential to resonate with audiences far beyond traditional business or personal development communities.
At its heart, START OVER is not a story about wealth, fame or business success.
It is a story about what happens when life knocks you down and you decide to stand back up.
With pre-production now underway and principal photography scheduled to commence in September 2026, Robinson’s most personal project is finally moving from vision to reality. www.marcorobinson.com
