About the author

Born in Santiago de Cuba in 1939, Manuel A. Castro holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Oriente, earned in 1970. He also holds a Doctorate in Economic Sciences and attained the rank of Full Professor at the University of Havana. He served as an advisor to the government on economic matters and as Vice President of the International Bank for Economic Cooperation in Moscow. He has led research teams and conducted numerous economic and socioeconomic studies, with particular distinction in areas such as public policy, globalization, and the Cuban economy.
