ARGOS Identity Raises $3 Million Pre-Series A to Expand AI Verification Infrastructure and U.S. Operations

July 15 17:42 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C. – July 15, 2026 – ARGOS Identity, an AI-powered identity verification and verification automation company, today announced the successful close of its $3 million Pre-Series A funding round, bringing the company’s total funding to $5 million.

The round was co-led by Stonebridge Ventures and BonAngels Venture Partners, with follow-on investments from Asia2G Capital and Kim Gisa Lab. ATON, a leading digital identity and security company, also joined the round as a strategic investor.

The new funding will accelerate the development of OMNI, ARGOS Identity’s AI-powered verification automation platform, while supporting the company’s expansion across the United States, strengthening its identity verification infrastructure, and recruiting top engineering and AI talent.

As digital services increasingly rely on trusted online identity, businesses face growing challenges in verifying users, businesses, and supporting documents while maintaining compliance and operational efficiency.

ARGOS Identity provides an AI-powered identity verification (eKYC) platform that combines facial recognition, passive liveness detection, document OCR, document authenticity verification, and fraud prevention technologies into a single solution. The platform enables organizations to verify users securely while reducing manual review and improving customer onboarding experiences.

Today, ARGOS supports identity verification in more than 195 countries and recognizes over 4,000 government-issued identity documents, serving customers across financial services, ticketing, gaming, marketplaces, mobility, and cross-border payments. Its customers include Kakao Entertainment, NHN LINK, YES24, SentBe, and Hanpass.

In 2025, ARGOS achieved 4x year-over-year growth in its enterprise customer base for large-scale identity verification and now serves more than 35 enterprise customers worldwide.

Earlier this year, ARGOS introduced OMNI, an AI-powered verification automation platform designed to help operations teams automate repetitive review and decision-support workflows.

OMNI automatically reviews, compares, validates, and cross-checks documents such as business registration certificates, contracts, bank account documents, identity documents, and supporting materials. Rather than replacing human decision-makers, the platform enables organizations to eliminate repetitive verification work so teams can focus on higher-value operational decisions.

Looking ahead, ARGOS plans to evolve OMNI beyond document verification into a broader trust infrastructure capable of verifying not only people and businesses, but also AI agents, their identities, delegated authority, and operational permissions.

Since entering the U.S. market in 2023, ARGOS has established operations in Washington, D.C. and continues expanding across North America and Latin America. As AI agents increasingly perform tasks and transactions on behalf of individuals and organizations, ARGOS believes trusted identity infrastructure will become a foundational layer of the AI economy.

“AI agents are transforming the way businesses operate at an unprecedented pace,” said Wonkyu Lee, CEO of ARGOS Identity. “This investment enables us to accelerate verification automation while building the trust infrastructure required for the AI era. In the future, organizations will need to verify not only whether a user is a real person, but also which AI agent is acting, on whose behalf, and with what authority.”

Youngdon Song, Managing Director at Stonebridge Ventures, added: “ARGOS has demonstrated exceptional technical capabilities, strong commercial momentum, and global scalability. We believe the company is uniquely positioned to build the trust infrastructure that will become essential in the era of AI agents.”
